The conference was held on November 8th and 9th. Users from around the country representing over 20 specialties of medicine attended the annual conference. Physicians, PAs, RNs, administrators, office managers, medical assistants and IT personal were able to attend multiple break-out sessions offered at the conference.
To date CMS has paid $6.6 billion in incentive payments to hospitals and individual healthcare providers for successfully attesting and meeting meaningful use. Since the release of the High Tech Act in 2009 about 3,600 hospitals and more than 128,000 individual healthcare providers have received the government sponsored incentive checks.

The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has begun random audits on providers that have received payments under the EHR incentive program. If your clinic is selected for audit a letter will be sent to you requesting specific information that you will need to provide to the auditor. A provider will be given two weeks to comply with the information requested in the audit.
