Breaking News
Duluth, Georgia - July 26, 2011 - MD Logic, the leader in high performance EMR/EHR technology today completed EHR testing with the Drummond Group. The Drummond Group is an authorized testing and certification body (ATCB) of the Office of the National Coordination for Health Information Technology (ONC) under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). Prior to receiving our EMR Certification ID Number, the Drummond Group must review the final reporting from our Stage I Meaningful Use test.
MD Logic has successfully passed the testing stage for Stage 1 - Meaningful Use and will be awarded EMR certification based upon final review of the test reporting data. The final review will be completed within 2-3 weeks from the testing date.

What we Know
Healthcare providers across the United States have all heard about the Federal Governments Stimulus Plan designed to reward healthcare providers that implement Electronic Medical Records. The key to qualifying for the stimulus dollars will be in having the healthcare provider meet the "meaningful use" requirements. In order to meet these requirements healthcare providers will be forced to collect more medical data from each patient visit. It will not be enough to simply implement a "Certified EMR" to meet "meaningful use" as healthcare providers will be forced to increase the amount of data they capture during each patient visit.
In order to prepare for the increase in the collection of data MD Logic has invested thousands of hours in research and software development to bring to market the MD Logic World Wide EMR v5.0. Several strategic clinic sites have already implemented v5.0 and are benefiting from all the time saving enhancements of the MD Logic software. This new software includes Phase II of the MD Logic Patient Kiosk software. The MD Logic Patient Kiosk has proven to be a critical software solution in helping our clients collect medical data without having to hire staff to meet the government requirements for the increase in data collection.
If a physician does not have a very fast solution for capturing the increased amount of medical data during patient visits then they will be forced to make the following decision:
1. Stay late each evening for an hour or two catching up on patient charting
2. Reduce the number of patients seen each day resulting in a loss of revenue
We can all agree that neither one of these options is a good option for healthcare providers.
EMR – There is a difference
Providers that have invested in MD Logic understand the importance of choosing an input device that will allow the clinic to quickly capture any new data required by the “meaningful use” requirements. Unfortunately the EMR market is flooded with EMR vendors that have developed slow cumbersome pick-list mouse driven system that will not save time. These physicians will be forced to adopt a faster input device like MD Logic to keep pace with collecting the patient data.
As doctors move forward in compliance with gathering more clinical data it will become essential to use the fastest input device available in healthcare. This is where MD Logic stands alone as the leader in allowing healthcare providers to document care “real-time” in the examination room.
What is in it for the Physicians?
As expected, the initial release of the proposed rules on “meaningful use” has created quite a lot of conversation in the medical community. Physicians that accept the proposed $44,000 that will be paid over a four year period of time through Medicare and Medicaid reimbursements.
However these physicians will be required to collect more clinical data for the Federal Government as a reward for these dollars. The table below outlines the Stimulus Reimbursement for healthcare provides:
